What We’re Reading

Our wealth management team enjoys spending some of their down time reading all types of literature. Here are a few things they are currently reading:
- Nick Tilli: Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. While not finished, I am really enjoying the book Sapiens. It is a very well-constructed book about the history of humankind. This topic may seem like a snore but the authors writing is very approachable and keeps the pages turning. The topics are fascinating, like how ants and honeybees have sophisticated yet simple social orders that are programmed into their genome, allowing them to pass their social order down through their genes. Where humans social order is created, it takes a conscious effort to sustain its laws, customs, procedures, and manners otherwise the social order would quickly collapse. So, if you’re interested in a good read and like this type of material, I would highly recommend adding Sapiens to your summer reading list!
- Ted Nahas: The Grunt Padre by Fr. Daniel L. Mode. This is an inspiring book about US Navy chaplain Fr. Vincent R. Copodanno’s life, his time as a Marine Corps infantry unit chaplain during the Vietnam War, and his many selfless actions that saved many lives and ultimately earned him the Medal of Honor.
- Paul Radeke: Leading the Way by Steve Letarte. This book combined my love and involvement with racing and how to take a team member who is struggling and get them back on top.
