Mike has devoted his career to serving the agriculture industry across the Midwest, specifically grain and farm supply cooperatives, privately-held grain and farm supply companies and farm producers. He leads the firm’s agribusiness team and on a day-to-day basis, you will find Mike reviewing audit reports or income tax returns, providing strategic business and tax advice to clients and staff or meeting with a board of directors to report on audit results and income tax scenarios.

  • Accrual basis farm financial reporting 
  • Hedge accounting 
  • Cooperative taxation 
  • Farm taxation
  • Section 199A for cooperatives and farmers 
  • Patronage dividend analysis – qualified and nonqualified patronage 
  • Agriculture research and development tax credits 

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Mike holds a bachelor’s degrein accounting and is also a certified management accountant. He is involved in the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, National Council for Farmer Cooperatives, Iowa Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Institute for Cooperatives, Agribusiness Association of Iowa, Grain & Feed Association of Illinois, Missouri Agribusiness Association, Minnesota Feed & Grain. President of Mississippi ValleChapter of National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives and serves on the Legal-Tax-Accounting committee for National Council Farmer Cooperatives.
