Dr. Jennifer Smith

As the Learning and Development Manager at BerganKDV, Jennifer creates and executes learning and development opportunities to ensure firm members have the ability to be the best-trained professionals in their field. Jennifer specializes in entrepreneurial leadership with an emphasis on developing both people and systems for growth. In addition to leading the firm’s learning and development program, Jennifer is also a social science researcher, diversity advocate, military veteran, and speaker.

Jennifer earned her Doctor in Executive Leadership (DEL) from the University of Charleston in West Virginia. She’s an active member and volunteer of multiple organizations both in her Cedar Rapids community and beyond including, serving as commissioner on the City of Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission, an organizer of 1Million Cups in Cedar Rapids, and the chair of the Technology Association of Iowa’s DEI Committee. Jennifer is also the host of The Dangerous Leader podcast and the founder of The Dangerous Leader Group LLC.

When she’s not helping BerganKDV team members develop both professionally and personally, Jennifer can be found writing, reading and playing with her Labradors and Belgian Malinois.
