Now in its 19th year of publication, Construction Executive (CE) is the leading trade magazine about the business of construction. In its July/August 2021 issue, CE published a comprehensive ranking of The Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms™ featuring breakouts and analysis accompanied by an article in which leading accounting experts discuss their construction clients’ most pressing business concerns.
BerganKDV was ranked #21 in this year’s list with 13.42% of the firm’s revenue coming from more than 1,100 construction clients in 2020. To determine the ranking, CE asked hundreds of U.S. accounting firms with a construction practice to complete a survey.*
“It is wonderful to be recognized on this list for another year in a row,” said Adam Tillman, CPA, Shareholder and Market Leader at BerganKDV. “Our team came together to accomplish great things this past year to ease the worries of our construction clients and help them adapt to unprecedented circumstances. Between workforce shortages, cash flow management woes, and increasing costs and risks, our clients were able to navigate these issues thanks to the expertise and immense collaboration shown by our team members. I am so proud to be part of such a devoted and client-centric group and look forward to what else we can accomplish in the future.”

Since first being published by Associated Builders and Contractors Services Corp. in 2003, the magazine has served as the leading source for news, market developments and business issues impacting the construction industry. Each issue includes articles designed to help owners and top managers run a more profitable and productive construction business, covering hot-button issues such as workforce development, insurance, estimating, project management, safety and liability, technological advancements and legislative action.
*To determine the ranking, CE asked hundreds of US accounting firms with a construction practice to complete a survey. Data collected included: 1) 2020 revenues from the firm’s construction practice; 2) number of CPAs in the firm’s construction practice; 3) percentage of firm’s total revenues derived from its construction practice; 4) number of states in which the firm is licensed to practice; 5) year in which the construction practice was established; and 6) the number of AEC clients served during fiscal year 2020. The ranking was determined by an algorithm that weighted these factors in descending order of importance. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
