BerganKDV elected six new members to their shareholder team effective July 1, 2021. The new shareholders include Adam Heathcote from the St. Cloud market, Matt Cosgriff from the Twin Cities market, Britt Von Roden from the Des Moines market, Crystal Ford from the Cedar Valley market and Nema Falahpour and Leighton Smith from the ICR market.

Heathcote is a wealth advisor who primarily focuses on helping clients, specifically executives and business owners, manage their financial lives. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Macalester College in St. Paul. He is a part of the Sartell/St. Stephen Education Foundation, CentraCare Health Foundation, United Way of Central Minnesota and officiates high school football and basketball through the St. Cloud Officials Association.
Cosgriff leads the wealth management group who works to ensure the Private Client, Retirement Plan Solutions, and Investment Management teams are working diligently to exceed client expectations at every opportunity. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a concentration in finance from Saint Olaf College and serves on the Breck School Alumni Council.
Von Roden leads People First and is responsible for the development, direction and success of our corporate marketing, human resources, recruiting, culture and learning and development strategies for the firm. She primarily focuses on creating, collaborating, and connecting each core strategy to ensure the firm’s brand is properly represented internally and externally and that we’re actively supporting our team members, clients and sales efforts. Britt received her bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, and public relations from Long Island University.
Ford is the Market Leader for the Cedar Valley area and is responsible for growing overall service for the area market by managing all aspects of the value creation cycle and works with her team to ensure excellent client service is being delivered. Crystal received a master’s degree in project management and bachelor’s degree in business administration. Crystal is active in various community organizations including Cedar Falls Community Main Street, Waterloo Main Street, The Iowa Women’s Foundation, and the Cedar Valley Society for Human Resource Managers
Falahpour is an audit manager who focuses on managing client engagements and projects to ensure that services provided by his team exceed client expectations. Nema received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in accounting and is Six Sigma Green Belt trained so he can assist clients with process improvement initiatives. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Iowa Society of CPAs, the Iowa Limestone Producers Association, and Treasurer of the Marion Chamber of Commerce.
Smith is responsible for client experience, retention, and growth. He leads the advisory members of the firm, facilitates conversations amongst teams, leads value creation meetings with priority clients and completes key initiatives as a member of the leadership team. Leighton received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago, and a juris doctorate and master’s in business administration from the University of Iowa. Outside of the office, Leighton is an Adjunct Professor at the Tippie College of Business and is actively involved in the community. He was named Person of the Year by the Iowa City Press Citizen and currently serves as a board member of Theatre Cedar Rapids and Leadership Iowa.
