Matt Cosgriff, CFP® has been selected as the Wealth Management Service Leader effective immediately. Cosgriff is currently serving as the leader of the retirement plan advisory team which manages over $850 million in assets.
Cosgriff joined BerganKDV Wealth Management, LLC in 2014 as a Certified Financial Planner. In 2015, Cosgriff was responsible for the launch of Lifewise, BerganKDV’s young professional focused financial planning service. Most recently, Cosgriff led an initiative for a financial planning software migration within the wealth management service group.
A graduate of St. Olaf College, Cosgriff holds a bachelor of arts in economics with a concentration in finance and completed coursework at Minnesota State University to become a Certified Financial Planner. Cosgriff has contributed financial planning blog posts and articles to various publications, including Nerd’s Eye View, XY Planning Network, Fortune and Investment News.

The interview process was led by consultant Patti Seda from Seda Consulting, LLC. Eight candidates were interviewed by a panel of staff from across the firm and Cosgriff was selected for the role on May 4.
“Matt is an up-and-coming leader in the financial planning industry,” said current Wealth Management Services Leader Dave Hinnenkamp, “He is driven to test boundaries to not only best meet the needs of our firm’s clients but to also improve the industry as a whole.”
Cosgriff is succeeding current Wealth Management Services Leader Dave Hinnenkamp. Hinnenkamp, a 34-year veteran of the firm, will become BerganKDV’s CEO effective July 1, 2018.
