As many organizations make plans to enable remote work environments for their employees, security awareness is extremely important. Keep your organization secure with these three tips.
- Use business owned devices when possible so your current security mechanisms stay in place. We don’t recommend using personally owned devices but if you must, make sure they have endpoint protection software on them, are fully patched and limited to what they can access on your system.
- Physical security is also important. Don’t store your laptop in your vehicle in plain view. Use the Windows+L keys to lock the device when you are not in front of it to keep it secure.
- Remind your users to be extra diligent during this time. Everyone needs to stop and think about unusual requests inside phishing emails and strange phone calls. Criminals will take advantage of the current situations to try and gain access to your systems or transfer money around.
