BerganKDV is celebrating International Women’s Day this year by highlighting the gender pay gap that unjustly impacts countless women in the workforce each day. This year’s theme is #ChooseToChallenge, urging individuals to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality in order to create a more inclusive world. On average, women earn around 80 cents for every dollar earned by their male colleagues. To bring awareness to this issue, BerganKDV invited all women and those who identify as such to work 80% of the workday on Monday, March 8th while being paid for the full amount.
“Creating an environment where our women team members feel empowered is an essential part of our culture and something we strive to do every day at BerganKDV,” said CEO Dave Hinnenkamp. “There are only positive outcomes when women have a fair seat at the table, and I am not alone in my beliefs when I say it is our priority to continue pursuing 50/50 representation at the leadership level of our firm. The women at BerganKDV are key to our success as a business, and we wouldn’t be the company we are today without them.”
BerganKDV is committed in its journey to achieving gender equality and the purpose of this activity is to demonstrate the work we have to do as a nation to right this wrong. We proudly recognize the immense efforts and contributions made every day by our women colleagues and encourage others to take a moment today to appreciate the women that continuously make a difference in their lives.
