BerganKDV is thrilled to announce that five teammates have been elected to become shareholders in the firm, effective July 1, 2022. The newly elected shareholders are Chris Gallo, Isaac Swick, Rob Mlenek, Christina Johnson and Jon Lamb.

They have been key contributors to our firm’s success, and I am confident they will continue to grow and strengthen our brand for many years to come.”
Gallo leads the Financial Accounting Advisory Services Team (FAAST) and state and local tax (SALT) practice at the firm. He is responsible for the growth and strategy of BerganKDV client accounting and financial advisory. Gallo has a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University and Northern Iowa. Prior to joining BerganKDV, Gallo worked as a liaison between the federal government and state and local governments, becoming an expert in SALT code, specifically, state and local audit defense and business compliance.
Swick guides the firm’s CPA teams in the West region (Kansas City, Omaha and Des Moines), ensuring team engagement, growth and expansion through serving clients. He earned his bachelor’s degree in management at Southwest Baptist University and another bachelor’s in accounting and business administration from Wichita State University. Swick is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mlenek serves as BerganKDV’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He leads the firm in digital transformation, driving growth initiatives and decision support to successfully achieve the firm’s 10-year vision. Mlenek has significantly driven results in his areas of focus including finance, accounting, internal technology facilities, M&A due diligence/implementation, legal, insurance, and the firm’s new Lean process. His team’s indirect leadership and partnership also provide support to meet the client’s needs to grow revenue, reduce expenses, and drive cashflow improvement. His innovative solutions are aimed at making BerganKDV move faster, nimbler and with better systems.
Johnson is a Tax Director at the firm, partnering with clients in multiple industries with federal and state tax-related items, consulting and general business operations. She is also the Bloomington tax team geography lead, assisting with staffing, training and development and is a champion of the BerganKDV Lean initiative, promoting efficiency and streamlining processes for not only the tax team but firmwide. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lamb is a Senior Systems Architect at the firm and is responsible for providing enterprise resource planning (ERP) advisory to clients and assisting them with the implementation of NetSuite, a robust ERP software. He specializes in building custom software solutions with his team that automates and simplifies business processes and connects disparate systems. Lamb has worked with enterprise software for over 10 years, software development for over seven years and is an active member of his local technology community. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and Spanish from the University of Portland.
